Preghiera per il nuovo anno

La preghiera suggerita per il nuovo anno dalla Curia generale

Dio Amore

ti ringraziamo per l’anno passato

con i suoi momenti belli e quelli più difficili.

Ti ringraziamo per l’amore che abbiamo ricevuto dalla famiglia e dagli amici

E per i successi conseguiti al lavoro e a casa.

Ti ringraziamo anche per i momenti difficili

I momenti con cui abbiamo lottato

i momenti di sfida; i momenti di incertezza;

i momenti in cui abbiamo avuto paura

per la sicurezza nostra e di coloro che amiamo;

i momenti in cui abbiamo perso coloro che ci erano cari.

Mentre guardiamo al nuovo anno

chiediamo la Tua grazia e la Tua benedizione.

Dacci salute e forza;

dacci fede e speranza.

Mandaci il Tuo Spirito.

Dacci pace con le scelte che facciamo

Concedeteci la gioia di guardare avanti e di discernere il futuro.

Soprattutto donaci l’amore che ci guiderà

attraverso tutte le sfide che incontreremo.

Aiutaci a camminare l’uno accanto all’altro con pazienza e misericordia

A mettere le nostre mani nelle mani di Tuo Figlio Gesù.

Egli ci guida e ci rafforza.

Egli è sempre al nostro fianco

Ci dà speranza

Ci aiuta a guardare oltre il piccolo ‘ora’,

al quadro generale e al sogno più ampio

Il sogno immaginato per noi da Te, nostro Padre.

Tu che vivi e ami

Per sempre e per sempre. AMEN

Loving God
we thank you for this past year
with its positive moments and its more difficult ones.
We thank you for the love we have received from family and friends
And for the successes we have had at work and at home.

We thank you also for the hard moments
The moments that we struggled with
the moments of challenge; the moments of uncertainty;
the moments when we have been afraid
for our safety and of those we love;
the moments when we lost those dear to us.

As we look forward to the next year
we ask for Your grace and blessing.

Give us health and strength;
give us faith and hope.
Send us Your Spirit.
Give us peace with the choices we make
Grant us joy as we look ahead and discern the future.
Most of all give us the love that will guide us
through whatever challenges we come across.

Help us to walk beside each other with patience and forgiveness
putting our hands in the hands of Your Son Jesus.
He guides us and strengthens us.
He is always by our side
He gives us hope
He helps us see beyond the small ‘now’
to the bigger picture and the wider dream
The dream imagined for us by You, our Father.

You who live and love
Forever and ever. AMEN
